Four of Karen’s favourite plants...

Peonies

These are perfect for early summer colour. They’re easy to grow and the flowers are glorious. ‘Duchesse de Nemours’ has a lovely scent.

Rudbeckia

The big, bold, yellow daisies with black or green centres are just brilliant for late summer and the flowers last very well.

Dahlias

If Karen can get them past the snails, she feels there’s something very joyful about a giant dahlia. ‘Café au Lait’ does very well.

Roses

Karen particularly likes some of the old rose varieties for their scent. Her red and white Rosa mundi is almost indestructible.
