FEED HANGING BASKETS

Hanging baskets and planted patio pots should be full of growth and flower now but they need special care to keep the flowers blooming. The compost will be packed with roots and the plants will be four or five times the size they were when planted and will need more feeding than ever to keep growing. Watering is the most important job, because it’s very difficult to water a basket once the compost has dried out and shrunk. Always apply fertiliser to moist compost, so water first and then feed. Increase the frequency of feeding, perhaps feeding every other day with half-strength feed to maintain a constant supply of nutrients.
