Nepeta (catmint)
Catmint is maybe not a plant you can grow if you’ve got a cat (they can flatten the plants) but if you’re feline-free and grow it in a sunny, welldrained spot, it should produce masses of bee-friendly blooms. Keep trimming off flower stems as they fade and it’ll keep blooming into autumn to feed the last foraging bumblebees. There are a range of sizes, from the stately ‘Six Hills Giant’ (H: 90cm) to the more compact ‘Kit Kat’ (H: 30cm).
