Pinch off aubergine flowers

Hopefully you’ll have a healthy flowering and fruiting aubergine plant – certainly the recent warm, sunny weather has been a boon to their growth. Check your fruits and if you have around five or six growing well, it’s time to pinch off the rest of the pretty lilac and yellow flowers. This will halt any more fruit growing, meaning all the plant’s energy is diverted into the remaining fruit, making them large, shiny and robust.
