Water pumpkins

It’s essential you keep regularly watering squashes and pumpkins as they’re growing – they’re extremely thirsty plants and if neglected they won’t fruit well. They can be prone to rotting if you simply water around the plant near the stem, so be a little clever about it and direct moisture right down to the roots. Place a flowerpot in the soil alongside the plant and water directly into this. Be sure to feed your pumpkins every fortnight with a tomato feed once they start growing larger, too.
