SMALL WAYS TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
Plan your planting
It’s planting time – plan for wildlife-friendly shrubs, bulbs, trees, annuals and perennials for your garden.
Sow wildflowers
Sow wildflower seed now, such as corncockles or ox-eye daisies, for a fabulous show to attract pollinators next year.
Leave windfalls
Leave some windfall fruit such as apples or plums as food for wasps and other insects, as well as birds.
Hang fat balls
High energy food such as fat balls are good to put out for birds from now onwards. Always remove the netting.
