Once birds have finished it’s time to clean out. Remove old nest, use boiling water, dry and add wood shavings.

Put a few clay (not concrete) roof tiles in the pond as cover for overwintering frogs and other aquatic wildlife.

Leave ivy

Try not to cut back ivy until the end of winter so flowers and then berries can provide late, vital food for wildlife.
