Hardy to -15C Height 12m+, Spread 1.5-2.5m Trachycarpus fortunei thrives in city gardens, patios, courtyards and containers outdoors all year round with little intervention. This evergreen palm grows fast in full sun in the ground and slower potted in dappled shade; it copes with most soils including clay, just avoid waterlogging and winter winds. Its hairy trunk is contrasted by dark green, fan-shaped leaves and panicles of yellow summer flowers. This palm is tough, easy to grow, with few pests or diseases; no pruning needed, just plant and enjoy.
