FOUR MORE NASTY TREE PROBLEMS
Silver leaf
A fungal disease of plums, apples, apricots and cherries that infects through wounds, mainly caused by pruning.
Bacterial canker
Another disease common in plums and cherries, cankers form in mid-spring causing shoots to die back and ooze.
Fireblight
Common on cotoneaster, photinia and pyracantha, you’ll notice the shoots dying back, like they’ve caught fire.
Rabbit damage
Rabbits can nibble bark at the base of trees, which will kill a tree if they nibble all the way round (ringbarking).
