What plants attract cats?

-

Stefan says: You say it is well known that cats love to roll on nepeta or catnip and you’ve noticed your neighbour’s cat also loves the giant hyssop, agastache, which was grown from a free packet of seeds that came with your Garden News, and this has prompted you to wonder what other plants might attract cats.

I must say that over many years of having cats at home, I haven’t noticed them being especially fond of anything other than nepeta, which they rolled in but did not eat. However, many years ago, we had this query on a Gardeners’ Question Time programme and I seem to recall that rosemary, calendulas and parsley were among those they were said to eat; and of course, most cats will chew on grass when they’re feeling unwell.
