Pick caterpillars off brassicas

-

Caterpillars attack a wide range of plants; you’ll find them, or at least their damage, on tomatoes and many flowers at this time of year. It’s often difficult to find the caterpillars themselves because they feed at night and hide during the day. But cabbage white caterpillars seem to have no fear and they munch their way through the leaves of cabbages, Brussels sprouts and cauliflowers in groups that are obvious to see. If you can’t face picking off the pests, cut off the leaves with the caterpillars attached and compost them.
