Some garden plants named for our late monarch have stood the test of time, from the clematis launched by Jackman’s of Woking in the coronation year of 1953, the award-winning floribunda rose from America in the 1950s, to a rhododendr­on bred by the Royal Gardens at Windsor in 1968.
