Crocus ‘Yalta’

-

A hybrid of Crocus tommasinianus, ‘Yalta’ is a large-flowered, bicolour crocus; its silverlavender outer petals marked with indigo sparkle in the sunlight. As the buds of ‘Yalta’ open, deep purple inner petals are revealed. This crocus looks good even in inclement weather when its buds are closed. Plant ‘Yalta’ 5cm deep in any well-drained soil in full sun. TOP TIP Plant en masse, with swathes of other varieties like ‘Prins Claus’, ‘Remembrance’ and ‘Advance’ to provide a complementary coloured feast for bumblebees. Height 8cm
