Chionodoxa forbesii

The intense, almost metallic violet-blue, starry flowers of Chionodoxa forbesii bestow an invigorating energy on the spring garden. Plant this little bulb 7cm deep in any well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Create carpets of blue across lawns, massed plantings under deciduous trees, in rockeries, containers, beds and borders. TOP TIP Plant in large drifts with white Anemone nemorosa to pick out the white centres of the chionodoxa flowers. Height 10-15cm
