PLANT BULBS IN THE LAWN

-

Daffodils and smaller bulbs always look their best when naturalised in the lawn. For small bulbs, such as crocus and scilla, it’s easier to lift a section of turf, lightly fork the soil and plant the bulbs in groups before covering with the turf. For daffodils it’s easier to plant with a bulb planter. Make the holes in variously sized groups with bulbs about 15-20cm apart so they have room to divide and grow. Choose early-flowering kinds so you don’t have to wait too long in spring to mow the grass.
