REUSE OLD COMPOST

Once container displays wane, put these redundant pots to good use by reusing old compost to mulch borders. Although this soil will be depleted of nutrients it’s still useful to help improve the soil structure of borders, reduce weed growth and retain moisture. Remove old plants and weeds, then spread the soil over your border. Soil is heavy and difficult to dispose of, so avoid filling up landfill sites with garden waste, save time, energy and money and rather than buying bags of mulch, put what you already have in the garden to good use.
