FOUR GREAT WALL SHRUBS
Trachelospermum
Better known as star jasmine, grow this woody climber in a sunny, sheltered spot, ideally a south-facing wall.
Pyracantha
Good for a cool spot in partial shade, pyracantha is low maintenance and the birds love the berries.
Cotoneaster
Popular with gardeners (and birds), it’s resilient and happy against a north wall, although will need tying in.
Ceanothus
Grows well trained against a sunny south or west-facing wall, producing silky blue tassels of flowers.
