PREPARE CHRISTMAS CACTUS FOR FLOWERING

-

Schlumbergera, or Christmas cactus, is so called because it likes to flower between November and January, just when we most need bright colour around us. Perhaps your cactus has been outside or has been watered as usual on the windowsill? It’s now that you should reduce watering to only occasionally, move it to a sheltered spot of around 12C and give it a mini ‘dormant’ period. This will encourage it to produce flower buds quickly. When it’s budded, put it back to a place that’s around 15-20C, water as normal and let it carry on and light up your windowsill!
