Making a note of good croppers

-

Radicchio seems to have cropped very well for me this year, with the summer ones a little more bitter than those cropping now. It’s an acquired taste but it’s a great addition to a salad, especially with blue cheese. With summer fresh in my mind, I’m starting to make a list of some of the varieties that have cropped well for me and will be grown again. These include cucumber ‘Ayda’, tomato ‘Gargamel’, beetroot ‘Goldeneye’ and aubergine ‘Scorpio’. They’ll all have a place in the garden next year. I’ll be noting all my successes and failures so I can refer to the lists as I prepare my seed order for next year, as no one wants to grow something that didn’t work!
