Success with my marrow
At the beginning of summer I’d failed to secure a marrow plant, then by chance, looking through the vegetable racks at my local garden centre, I found a sickly looking plant labelled as ‘marrow’. I negotiated a good price for it, brought it home and lavished it with TLC. I planted it in a rich mound of soil and it has now rewarded me with a bountiful crop. My wife is happy as stuffed marrow is one of our favourite winter dishes.
