Pot herbs for indoors

-

As temperatures cool and wet weather becomes more frequent, it’s useful to pot up garden herbs for the kitchen windowsill so you have an on-hand supply for cooking over winter. Choose herbs you use most frequently, such as oregano, sage and rosemary, and dig up a clump. Pot on in gritty, peat-free compost. The warmth of the kitchen will keep these herbs flourishing. Dividing herbs is also a good way to ensure you have a back-up. If a plant fails, you’ll have a spare.
