Don’t forget to clean gutters
With so many falling leaves at the moment, I’m clearing gutters on the greenhouse and shed. The downpipes soon become blocked, resulting in gutters overflowing and the shed beginning to leak. Once guttering and downpipes are clear and clean, I’ll drain water butts and remove any debris from the bottom of the barrels before using a citrus oil-based disinfectant (such as Citrox) to clean them. Everything is then connected back together, and barrels should fill up pretty quickly with the autumn rains, allowing me to use the collected water on winter seedlings, which will be growing in the greenhouse, without the fear of any additional bacteria causing them to damp off.
