Rosa rugosa ‘Scabrosa’

-

Another tough rose with disease-free foliage and a neat and tidy habit. All summer long it produces its large (10cm), single flowers that are vivid pink with a white centre. The richly fragrant blooms are produced in small clusters and followed by equally large and vibrant fleshy hips that ripen to scarlet red. A thing of beauty all summer and into autumn! It’s similar to Rosa rugosa but differs because the flowers and hips are larger and more spectacular, it also has a neater habit and is easier to manage in the border. Height: 1.2m. Try with hardy fuchsias and Michaelmas daisies for a late-summer and autumn flourish.
