Rosa rugosa ‘Alba’

-

This is an easy, tough rose that makes a great hedge but is elegant enough to grace any border. Disease-free foliage covers the prickly stems and the large, pure white flowers with a central boss of golden stamens are produced all summer. They open from pointed buds and are deliciously fragrant. As soon as the first flowers have faded the hips start to ripen and they’re large, juicy and showy, the last of them hanging on well into winter after the foliage has turned bright yellow. Most roses grow best on heavy soils but this thrives in even sandy, poor soils and by the sea. Height: 1.5m.

Try with olearias, escallonias and sea buckthorn for a coastalstyle hedge or screen.
