Water bulbs in the greenhouse

-

Trips to the greenhouse are less frequent at this time of year but are still necessary. Plants are growing slowly but they mustn’t be allowed to dry out. On sunny days the temperature can soar and careful watering is needed. Pots of spring-flowering bulbs must be kept moist, even if there are no shoots yet, because roots are busy growing. Pots of tender bulbs, such as nerines and spring-flowering freesias, should be watered and also given liquid feed because this is their main growing period. Keep a can of water ready in the greenhouse so the water is at the same temperature as the compost.
