Be a wrap artist

-

Big plants, such as bananas and other palms that must stay in situ, can be wrapped to keep them dry and well insulated. Create a cage out of chicken wire, packing the plant around with straw or bracken (cutting it back if necessary) and add a plastic ‘hat’ to stop the rain getting in. For smaller plants, a commercially available hessian or fleece jacket is often sufficient.
