Watch out for pots!
There’s a big difference between a plant surviving the winter in the ground and surviving it in a container. Trees, evergreens, roses and even bulbs can come a cropper if the temperatures drop low enough and their roots freeze solid. Insulate pots with bubble wrap and if temperatures drop below -5C then move containers, especially small ones, into a shed or greenhouse forthwith.
