Remove grass around trees in lawns

-

When trees are growing in lawns it’s important to keep grass away from the stems or trunks, especially when they’re young. Grass will compete with trees for nutrients and moisture but more seriously, if grass is cut there’s a danger of damaging bark with a mower or strimmer. Spray off the grass with a contact weedkiller or cut away turf and replace with a mulch that will provide nutrients and help preserve moisture.
