CORNUS FLORIDA

-

White/pink ‘flower’ bracts cover the stems of this large, deciduous shrub in spring and early summer. Colourful leaves and berries. ‘Cherokee Chief’ is gorgeous in pink.

PLUS POINTS: Only gets to 3m high and wide in 20 years. Many layers of interest over three seasons – the variety ‘Rainbow’ has multi-coloured leaf colour in autumn.

SITING: Neutral to acidic soil in full sun to partial shade.

PRUNING: Light prune in winter to shape if needed. To get more light to the canopy, take out crossing branches.
