Picking next year’s crops

-

As most mail order companies have already launched their 2023 seed ranges, I’ve been having a look through the catalogues and started to select some of the seeds I’m going to be growing next year. Firstly I like to check what I have in, making sure I’m not ordering more of what I already have. I’ve seen a new beetroot called ‘Jolie’, which is supposed to be very sweet and less earthy than usual, and after growing a sweet, orangerooted one called ‘Golden Eye’, I’m a convert to these less earthy, sweeter-tasting types. Now I’ll just wait for a rainy day and get all the catalogues out to compare prices, as they do alter dramatically.
