NATURAL DETERRENT

I swear by Bowdens’ garlic wash spray recipe for hostas. It’s simply two bulbs of garlic and two pints of water. Crush the garlic and boil it in the water for a few minutes, then strain it off and leave to cool. Add one tablespoon to 5 litres of water and spray on hosta leaves – the slugs and snails hate it!
