I’m making things ship-shape
One of my favourite features in the Kitchen Garden has to be the Woodblocx circular raised bed, which contains a ‘Red Sentinel’ crab apple. It looks amazing at this time of year as it adds a burst of colour to the plot. That said, the wooden blocks on the top of the bed have started to go a little green because of the overhanging branches, so it’s time to give them a good scrub (or even a power wash) and clean them off. If this fails I have some blocks to replace them now before the herbaceous contents of the bed begin to grow in spring. This should prevent any new growth being damaged as I carry out maintenance work on the bed.
