BOOT LANE WORKS
16mm scale freelance 0-4-0ST kit
‘Clara’, is a freelance 0-4-0ST inspired by the narrow-gauge Bagnall’s ‘Sybil’, ‘Isabel’, ‘Peter’, etc. Built from 3D-printed filament and resin parts, and laser-cut acrylic, it utilises the firm’s new adaption to the Binnie Engineering 29mm wheel, creating an effective driving wheelset.
Together with printed rods, acrylic frames, etc, this allows them to offer an economic inside framed power chassis.
The kit comes complete with a 3-6 volt motor, nylon worm gears, wheels, and all necessary metal stock, nuts, screws & washers required to build the model in the photos.
Also included in the kit is a micro slide switch (with a corresponding laser cut hole in the footplate) and a selection of resin printed detail parts.
There is adequate room in the boiler for four “AA” batteries or a 3.7V Lipo battery (search eBay for “Syma X5C battery”) and room in the water tank to place a “Loco Remote” Mini B unit if desired.

16mm scale carriage kit
‘The Vyne’, is described as “a carriage with a twist”, inspiration being provided by a Mikes Models 009 kit from the 1970s.
Constructed almost entirely from laser-cut 1mm and 2mm acrylic, plus 3D-printed springs, axle boxes, etc. it comes with everything needed to build the carriage. We are told the model will comfortably negotiate 30” Peco curves and is currently only available in 32mm gauge.
The addition of a Guards Duckett transforms the carriage into a Guards End.
