A healthy business
I was impressed by your feature in the January issue, ‘Can gardening save the NHS?’ I thought I’d share my positive experience. I was working full time in the oncology department of my local hospital while also caring for my bed-bound mother. The strain of juggling life was making me unhappy, so with the wonderful support of my husband and children I set up a gardening business aimed at the elderly or those unable to garden. I struggled with joint and muscle pain, but gradually I regained strength and stamina, allowing me to garden for hours at a time. I was reaping the benefits, and my clients were delighted with the neatness restored to their gardens. It has transformed my life. Jane Steward, by email
