Rhubarb can be planted now. Add com­post to the soil, wa­ter the crowns well and keep them at the soil sur­face when they are planted − they are likely to rot if com­pletely buried. It’s a good idea to al­low the plants to strengthen for a year be­fore pick­ing the tasty young shoots the fol­low­ing spring.

Spread out the roots and plant the crown so it’s just vis­i­ble
