As natural light levels drop, let in as much light as possible by regularly clearing leaves and debris from the greenhouse roof. A long-handled broom will do the trick − brush them down from the ridge towards the gutter. Wear gloves to run your hands along the length of the gutter, scooping out the leaves as you go. Make sure leaves don’t block the down pipes that fill water butts. Blast a hosepipe down them to be sure and collect any debris that falls into the butt.
