How long should I keep my pear tree staked?

CHRISTINE SAYS I’m not a great fan of using stakes when planting trees, unless they are in a very windy site. I would think your stake could be removed this coming spring. If your site is exposed, put in a lower support at an angle much nearer the base of the tree to protect the roots from wind rock.
