How can I tackle oak galls on trees?
Kevin Murfitt, Norfolk
MATTHEW SAYS It’s been a bumper year for invertebrates and, as a consequence, a bumper year for gall wasps, the tiny insects that lay their eggs in developing acorns − the larvae that hatch from these eggs cause the galls. There are over 30 species of gall wasp but, fortunately, they don’t cause any long-term harm to oak trees.
