How can I tackle oak galls on trees?

MATTHEW SAYS It’s been a bumper year for invertebra­tes and, as a consequenc­e, a bumper year for gall wasps, the tiny insects that lay their eggs in developing acorns − the larvae that hatch from these eggs cause the galls. There are over 30 species of gall wasp but, fortunatel­y, they don’t cause any long-term harm to oak trees.
