Plan a new bed
Spring is a good time to plant up new beds and borders so start planning now. Avoid over ordering materials by measuring the size of the bed to calculate the right number of plants and work out how much fertiliser and mulch you need. Look at images of beds and borders to decide on a style before shopping for plants. Check that the plants suit your site and judge how much space they need. It is useful to sketch a plan starting with some winter structure then adding spring, summer, then autumn interest for a year round display.
