Calming garden

A primary school has reported changes in pupil behaviour after installing a meditation and prayer garden. “The new garden has provided the children with a place to calm down – you can see the happiness on their faces,” says Karyn Oakley, headteacher at Our Lady’s Catholic Academy, Stoke-on-Trent. The garden was designed by the children and includes a trickling water feature, scented herbs and seasonal flowers.
