A RIGHT ROYAL RED

-

January is not without its splashes of colour – step forward this polyanthus. This stalwart fills the gap before our containers begin to burst with bulbiness - or is that bulbitude? Either way, I may be taking liberties with the English language but who cares when we have a red as bright as that?

Galanthus elwesii ‘Polar Bear’

Most snowdrops look pretty similar but this one rather stands out, with flowers that are a bit more upright and a different petal pattern. H x S 15cm x 5cm

Polyanthus ‘Stella Regal Red’

Propagate by seed sown in spring. Good in containers or filling gaps. Works well combined with early flowering bulbs. H x S 20cm x 25cm
