A BOB SAYS Neither. Although either might work in pots, where ingress from surroundin­g soil is not replenishi­ng the pH. Even replacing some soil with acid compost will still give only temporary relief, unless you line the site and/or raise a mound. The simple answer is large containers filled with good ericaceous compost.
