What size should we make our new raised beds?

A BOB SAYS The real advantages of raised beds come from not standing on them. I experimented, then finally settled on beds that are about 4ft wide by 15ft long, with 1ft wide paths between and 2ft wide header lanes. (I suggest measurements in feet as one’s booted feet are then the measure and they are always to hand). A 4ft width means you can stretch across to the middle easily and it’s never too far to walk around. You don’t need ‘siding materials’, just mound the beds with slopes.
