This is a beautiful large, semievergreen shrub, bearing small bunches of pretty pink and white flowers in midwinter. But it is for its exquisite scent that ‘Jacqueline Postill’ reaches the echelons of top plants for the end of the year. When your nose moves in to take a sniff, your eyes automatically close to allow your whole being to concentrate on the intense scent. It benefits from a sheltered position, so don’t plant it in an exposed, wind-blasted site. A warm wall at its back will intensify the scent, too.
