FEBRUARY BLUES

-

The main problem with crocus is that they are considered a delicacy by not only all the squirrels in your neighbourhood, but also every field mouse within whistling distance. The good things are that vermin can be deterred by wire netting, that crocus are modestly priced so you can plant loads, and they will add winter zing to pots, borders and even lawns.

Crocus ‘Whitewell Purple’

Plant in a free-draining, sunny position. Its slender deep-purpley-blue flowers, with an orange stamen, open up whenever the sun appears.
