Get your lawn into shape
Mow the lawn, with the blades on a high setting, if it needs a tidy-up. Grass grows in the milder areas of the UK for most of the year.
Wherever you are, weeds in the lawn are ready to compete with the grass, so spot weed them out with a daisy grubber before they can get the upper hand. If the weather is dry, spike to aerate compacted areas using a fork or hollow-tined aerator, but avoid any lawn activity in freezing or very wet conditions.
