Once upon a garden
Your request for garden memories fits in with my own gardening story. I started gardening in 1991 with no experience. Our house and garden were new, and so it was a case of starting from scratch. In 1992, we had turf laid from fence-to-fence for a quick win, then I developed an interest in gardening, with most of my knowledge coming from watching Gardeners’ World and reading GW magazine every month.
During 2020’s first lockdown, I watched an episode of GW where a professional landscape gardener built a brick path in his garden. I don’t know why I thought my husband and I could attempt such a feat ourselves, but within just a few weeks the 7m-long path was finished.
