Asparagus is expensive to buy in the shops but is easy to grow and tastes delicious freshly harvested from the garden. Once establishe­d 12 plants will produce an average crop of 10kg (22lb) annually for 12 years or more. We supply large one year old crowns which will establish quickly so that you can harvest your first crop (we recommend only sparingly) just one year after planting. Plants should be spaced 38cm (15in) apart in rows 1m (3ft) apart. Delivery is from late March/April. Offer closes 30th April 2021. BURGUNDINE - This new purple male dominant F1 hybrid is exceptiona­lly sweet and the low fibre content means the spears are particular­ly tender even when eaten raw, with virtually no waste at the base. Excellent gently steamed but also a very tasty addition to salads. Outyields many of the green types. Crops mid season.
