Deadhead your daffodils

-

Pull off faded daffodil flowers, so the plants don’t waste energy producing seeds. Then leave the foliage to die back naturally – while green the leaves are still productive, so wait for them to turn yellow before removing. Fading leaves can look unsightly, but resist the urge to tidy up because this dieback vastly improves a bulb’s strength to flower next spring.

Apply a high potash liquid fertiliser, such as tomato feed, around the bulbs after flowering too, to encourage flower buds to set for next year.
