Start cannas off
Pot dormant canna rhizomes now to start them into growth. They need a long season to get the best display of their tall, showy flowers.
Fill a large pot with potting compost and place the rhizomes just under the surface of the compost. Replenish the compost if they are already in pots. Water them in, then move to a sunny windowsill or on a heated mat, so they get enough warmth to start into growth. Keep them indoors until early June.
